Glossary


  • Dehumanize: To deprive of positive human qualities, personality, or dignity.

  • Dichotomy: a division or contrast between two things that are or are represented as being

  • opposed.

  • Dubious: of questionable value; not to be relied upon.

  • Fear mongering: the action of intentionally trying to make people afraid of something

  • when this is not necessary or reasonable.

  • Immigrant: a person who comes to live in a country other than their own.

  • Incarcerated: To put or keep someone in prison.

  • Inconsequential: not important or significant.

  • Misinformation: false or inaccurate information, that is deliberately intended to deceive.

  • Polarizing: sharply contrasting groups or sets of opinions or beliefs.

  • Rhetoric: language designed to have a persuasive or impressive effect on its audience, but

  • often regarded as lacking in sincerity or meaningful content.

  • Veracity: conformity to facts; accuracy.
