Glossary
Dehumanize: To deprive of positive human qualities, personality, or dignity.
Dichotomy: a division or contrast between two things that are or are represented as being
opposed.
Dubious: of questionable value; not to be relied upon.
Fear mongering: the action of intentionally trying to make people afraid of something
when this is not necessary or reasonable.
Immigrant: a person who comes to live in a country other than their own.
Incarcerated: To put or keep someone in prison.
Inconsequential: not important or significant.
Misinformation: false or inaccurate information, that is deliberately intended to deceive.
Polarizing: sharply contrasting groups or sets of opinions or beliefs.
Rhetoric: language designed to have a persuasive or impressive effect on its audience, but
often regarded as lacking in sincerity or meaningful content.
Veracity: conformity to facts; accuracy.
