Ashley Albritton, MLA

Research Analyst

Ashley completed a Master of Liberal Arts from Johns Hopkins University in 2024. She focused her
graduate research on the social theory behind participation in mass atrocities against the backdrop of coercive social systems such as authoritarianism. She also holds bachelor’s degrees in philosophy, anthropology, and art from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and is a Phi Beta Kappa honor.


Ashley is a military veteran with experience in intelligence analysis and counterterrorism. Through this experience, she developed an understanding of how delicate and nuanced contemporary social challenges can be. It influenced her decision to pursue an education in the humanities and social sciences. Her research interests include political and social theory, moral and social psychology, ethical theory, and the role of the arts in freedom of expression.
